If you love durians, this is where you can find one. 2023-09-28 THU There are not many dessert restaurants near Central, and Honeymoon Dessert was one of only a few options.  In a random cafe, while hunting for dessert restaurants. To me, this main street crossing from west to east between Sheungwan and Wanchai, seems to have the most Hong-Kong-ly scenes with all the trams and buildings.  Honeymoon Dessert is a franchise but still servers various dessert like the old styled ones. I always go with the recommendations on the first visit. durian ? 57 She loves durian. I told my HK friends that she's looking for durian puddings, and even the locals didn't get it. Label Taro Ball 42 We have all these sweet desserts but why durian? why?! 7 Burd Street, 7 Burd St, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong Various delicious congee. They have two hall in two different buildings. Somehow all congee menu is 34 HKD. I found out this last time we're here, but it's been already 6 years. Probably we looked confused and a kind young lady told us that these are same places in Korean! Thanks to K-pop, it's not hard to find foreigners speaking Korean any more. The prices increased by about 5 HKD. It was only 29 HKD 6 years ago and prices generally increased even more while going through Covid-19.  Sharing tables is common.  She ordered on with fish and it tasted better than I expected. Fri

Shop A1, G/F, The Zenith Tower 3, 8 Wan Chai Rd, Wan Chai, Hong Kong   A small old-styled dessert place in the back street of Wanchai. Various menu. Seats limited.  2023-09-27 WED Hong Kong is famous for desserts, but somehow it was net easy to find ones near Central. Especially the old-styled dessert places that open until late, could be found only in some areas far from Central.  So we took a tram to Wanchai only for dessert, and taking trams is fun itself.  Those pictures on the wall simply look like famous movie scenes, but all of them are parodies with the name of this place in it. For example Joker is crying in a car passing by the sign of this place.  Chestnut & Taro Soup with Icy Milk 52 The taste is familiar but icy milk is always right.  Black Sesame Soup with Soy Pudding 38 Black Sesame Soup was too mild considering it's a dessert.  mango pudding? 45 So she had another one. B1, 7-15 Des Voeux Rd Central, Central, Hong Kong  Fine dining famous for Peking duck. 2023-09-27 WED Hello, Hong Kong! Here comes Ms. Gwang-cheon Seaweed. A small gift for Karen who kindly let us stay in her penthouse. Karen suggested to take a taxi from the Central station, but it seemed walk-able from the route of Google Map. But I didn't remember clearly how steep the Mid-levels were. Going up.  And up. Hong Kong is a mysterious city in many ways. This is just a tree in a small park in the neighborhood.  The view from Karen's house.  We were a little tired and hungry so didn't go to dance but shared a taxi with Karen, so could peep a little inside. I didn't know the Wednesday socials are organized by her. If we knew, we definitely should have been there. :( Fringe Club.
