Banana Foster

Brennan's is famous for its iconic dessert, Banana Foster.

뉴올리언즈에서 유명하다는 식당을 찾았다. 그런데 유명한건 메인요리가 아니라 바나나가 들어간 디저트란다.

I Just have to try anything famous, including Gumbo.

유명하다는건 다 먹어봐야지. 검보도 주문하고.

구운 사과? 맛은 기억 안남. 진정한 애플시나몬이라고 그분이 좋아하셨음.

Gumbo felt like Korean juk. So it's like Tomato sauce juk.
검보. 우리나라의 죽같은 느낌이다. 토마토소스죽?

Poached eggs atop Holland rusks, Canadian bacon, and Marchand de Vin sauce.
Topped with Hollandaise sauce

종업원이 자리마다 가서 뭔가를 하고 있다.

They make the famous banana foster in front of their customers.

바로 이 집의 명물인 바나나포스터를 직접 손님 테이블 앞에서 만들고 있었다.

The other guests didn't seem much interested, but he must have recognized my attention.

다른 손님들은 관심이 별로 없어보였는데 내가 돌아앉아서 구경하자 의식하는 듯 했다.

Sean kindly described what he's doing.

이 아저씨의 이름은 Sean. 아예 대놓고 설명을 해주고 계신다.

They turn off the light to show off the fire. Sean seemed surprised himself?

그런데 본인이 놓은 불에 본인이 놀란듯. 극적 효과를 노려서 불쇼(?)하는 동안 잠시 조명을 내린다.

We ordered one but they kindly served two plates.

하나만 주문했는데 센스 있게 두 그릇 주셨다.

Walking around the town after lunch. The two or three floored buildings along the small street is what New Orelasns looks like. 

밥 먹고 시내 구경. 거리 양쪽으로 늘어선 2~3층 집들이 뉴올리언즈의 지역색을 분명하게 만들어준다.

This also feels somewhat like New Orelans?
