When I was planning this trip to Croatia, Plitvice Lake was one our major destinations. Both of us prefer somewhere not crowded, and the story that the film Avatar designed the planet from some of the views here, attracted me.
플리트비체 국립공원은 크로아티아 여행을 준비하던 초기부터 염두에 두던 곳이다. 원래 그분과 나 둘 다 공원처럼 한적한 곳을 좋아하는데 아바타의 행성 모티브가 된 곳이라고 하니 더 기대가 되기도 했다.
There's a bus from Zagreb to the park. Because it takes almost a whole day, we departed early in the morning. We are taking a flight to Dubrovnik tonight.
자그레브에서 출발하는 버스가 있는데 플리트비체를 돌아보는데 시간이 꽤 걸린다고 해서 아침 일찍 출발했다. 오늘 저녁에 자그레브로 다시 돌아와서 듀브로브니크행 비행기를 타기 때문에 일정이 빠듯하고 비행 전 장거리 여행이 좀 불안하긴 했지만 일정 상 어쩔 수 없었다.

Probably something we had while waiting for the bus.
아마 버스 기다리면서 먹은 아점이지 싶다.
As we come close to the park, we found a bunch of people running with numbers. It seemed that there was a marathon going on. What a perfect running course!
버스가 공원에 다다를 때쯤 한무리의 러너들과 마주쳤다. 마라톤 대회라도 있는 모양인데 플리트비체에서 달리기라니 뛰어보고 싶어졌다.
There are several routes to look around the park, and we chose this one. However, due to the marathon, the bus stopped running, so we had to modify our plan.

차를 타고 올라갔다가 걸어 내려와서 배를 타고 폭포까지 이동하는 경로였지만, 마라톤 때문에 차는 운행중단하고, 대신 걸어올라가다가 방향을 틀었는데 다시 아래쪽으로 내려와 버리고. 출발점에 다시 와보니 운행재개해서 차로 정상까지 왕복 후 배를 타려고 했으나 시간이 모자랐음;

waiting for a boat. Be careful when choosing a course in Plitvece, and stick to it once the choice is made.
몇 가지 코스가 있는데 합류점까지 꽤 길어서 잘 생각하고 가야한다;;

나무가 쓰러지면 쓰러진대로 두는 플리트비체 공원
the boat is actually floating on the water, but it looks like being in the air because the water is so clean.
뱃머리가 들려있는것처럼 보이지만 물이 맑은것 뿐
the best lunch spot occupied

Did you know that the planet in the movie 'Avatar' is designed based on Plitvice?
정작 크로아티아 사람들은 영화 아바타가 플리트비체를 모티브로 했다는걸 모르더라;

서양 사람들은 왠지 다 매너 좋을 것 같은데, 그것도 국민성인지 개념 없는 민족들이 있다. 오리 먹으라고 과자를 뿌려놓질 않나, 국립공원에서 떼지어 담패를 피질 않나.

일기예보대로 비가 오지 않아 실망(?)했지만, 드디어 한국에서 공수해 온 우비가 빛을 발하는 순간
You must visit the Plitvice Lakes National Park if you are going to Croatia.
크로아티아 여행을 한다면 플리트비체는 필수다.
