Fort St. Elmo is the most popular attraction in Valletta. It islocated on the northern end, which is the opposite side from the City Gate, and you need to walk for a while. The whole facility is a museum, so you need to buy a ticket to enter.
It costs 10 EUR for one person, which is reasonable.

The museum is well-organized including visual dispalys. This video was very educational on the history of Malta. How it was invaded by other countries to make us of its geographical adavantage, reminded me of our own Korean history.
