JP馬군, 느리게 먹는 사람

*  Dance & Tour  의 "JP馬군의 We Lindy Hop the World" 연재 칼럼입니다. 2000년대 중반쯤 스윙댄스를 시작한 댄서라면 아마도 대부분 기억하고 있을거다. 지금도 건재한 정상급 댄서들이 Freedom, Revolution, Liberation이라는 이름으로 입이 다물어지지 않을 정도로 압도적인 표현을 보여준 ULHS. 컴피티션을 별로 좋아하지 않던 나조차도 Ja-Da에 맞춰 디비전 이름대로 자유롭게 춤추는 댄서들을 보며 왠지 모를 감정에 빠져 한동안 이 곡만 듣기도 했다. 다른 행사들이 아직 지금처럼 성장하기 전 유엘는 태생적으로 재즈의 고향인 뉴올리언즈에서 열렸다. 술과 음악, 화려한 버번 스트리트에서 한 블럭만 벗어나면 마주치는 우범지대가 공존하는 이곳이야말로 재즈가 일상인 도시이다. 길을 나서면 이름 모를 길거리 밴드가 어김없이 멋진 스윙재즈를 연주한다는 그곳, 스윙댄서라면 빼놓을 수 없는 목적지가 뉴올리언스다. Since it's the last day in New Orelans, we walked out of the hotel in rain, in order try Beignet. We mostly walked around the town, but we botught RTA 1 day pass, which was ony $3, for moving around fast for the last day. 뉴올리언즈 일정은 오늘이 마지막이라서 그 유명하다는 Beignet을 먹기 위해 새벽댓바람(?)부터 가는 빗줄기를 헤치고 호텔을 나섰다. RTA 1 day pass가 3USD로 저렴한 편이다. 보통 도보로 이동한 거리 내에 모든게 있어서 그런듯. 오늘은 기동력이 필요해서 구매했다. beignet 10.6 +2 It was not anything special but still tasted good with the soft bread and sweet powder. I was pleased to tip the trumphetter in front of the cafe. 맛은? 달다구리한 도너츠 느낌. 딱 그림 보고 떠오르는 그 맛이다. 빵이 좀 부드럽다는 정도? back to New Orleans (2012)

I Just have to try anything famous, including Gumbo. 유명하다는건 다 먹어봐야지. 검보도 주문하고. Hussarde Baked Apple 41.0 She loved this saying it's genuine apple cinamon. 구운 사과? 맛은 기억 안남. 진정한 애플시나몬이라고 그분이 좋아하셨음. Oyster Rockefeller 19.0 Brennan's special treatment of this world-famous dish. Just blame my photo. 사진이 이상하게 나온 것 뿐. Maude's Seafood Okra Gumbo 14.0 Gumbo felt like Korean juk. So it's like Tomato sauce juk. 검보. 우리나라의 죽같은 느낌이다. 토마토소스죽? Eggs Hussarde A Brennan's Original One of the dishes that put "Breakfast at Brennan's" on the map. 310 Andrew Higgins, New Orleans, LA 70130 +1 504-581-4367 http://www.generationshall.com/ 2012-09-29 SAT Saturday main paty was held in the Generations Hall, where I could find the familiar floor I've seen in YouTube Videoes.  오늘의 메인 파티는 Generations Hall. 외관은 마치 호텔처럼 생겼다. 동영상에서 봤던 곳이 여기였는지, 플로어가 눈에 익은 곳이다. 그 와중에 이벤트로 받은 가방 인증. Korean dancers occupied the floor! 공연중(?)인 초록거인과 쏘이. Performances. 진짜 공연중인 팀. Energetic! 에너지가 엄청나다. These couple were seen since then. 유럽에서 종종 봤던 여여 커플. 실제로도 커플이라고. Charismatic Meschiya Lake! 포스 넘치는 Meschiya Lake 누님. 누님은 아닌 것 같지만 그렇게 불러드려야 할 것 같은 포스. Now it feels quite normal but I was curious why people only listen to this fine tuens without dancing.  저렇게 밴드 앞에서 음악만 듣는 사람도 꽤 있다. 요즘은 우리나라 댄서들도 밴드 팬덤이 생겨서 종종 볼 수 있는 풍경이지만 당시만 해도 신기했다. '이 좋은 음악에 왜 춤 안추고 듣고만 있나'라며. back to New Orleans (2012)

ULHS 경험이 있는 다른 댄서가 그렇게 말했던 것 같다. 꽤 유명한 Acme Oyster House. soup of the day 5.45 Chargrilled Oysters - half dozen 11.50 Sizzling, chargrilled oysters saturated in an herb butter sauce, topped with a special blend of cheese Oysters! yum but too salty 치즈인가를 얹어서 구워냈다. 좀 짜긴 했는데 꽤 맛있었던 기억이다. 굴과 치즈라니. It's salty so good with bread.  짠 편이라 빵이랑 같이 먹으면 좋다. 하프다즌이라 6개. 1/2 & 1/2 Platter - Shrimp and Fried Fish Fried Fish Platter 15.95 Tow mild, white flaky filets fried to a golden perfection Fried fish is just regualr one I could have in Korea. 평범하게 맛있는 생선까스? back to New Orleans (2012)
