We checked out the hotel and went to the West bus station to take the bus to Plovdiv.
호텔을 체카아웃 하고 플로브디프 행 버스를 타기 위해 서부터미널로 이동했다.

At first, I considered to order a taxi, but a bus doesn't seem to be bad because we don't have to walk much.
처음엔 택시 앱으로 택시를 부를까 하다가 타는 정류장도 호텔 바로 앞이고 내리면 바로 터미널이라 그냥 버스를 타기로 했다.

We already took this one before to make a reservation, so I know the route. The bus costs 1 BGN.
도착 다음날 버스를 예매하기 위해 이 버스를 이미 탔던터라 안심할 수 있었다. 버스비는 670원.

It was early morning but the small store next to the station was open so we could buy bread and coffee.
이른 아침이라 플로브디프 가는 내내 배고프면 어쩌나 싶었는데 터미널 옆 작은 가게가 영업중이라 빵과 커피를 살 수 있었다. 죽으라는 법은 없구나.

I asked the lady at the toilet if it costs 0.5, but she shook her head to the side, saying "Da". I already knew that Bulgarians use opposite head gesture for 'yes' and 'no' but I was confused for a second. The more tricky part is that some Bulgarians fix their gestures for foreigners, which make you even more confused.

화장실에 가고 싶어서 수금원 아주머니에게 0.5레바 맞냐고 물으니 고개를 가로져으며 "Da"라고 대답한다. 불가리아에서는 긍정과 부정의 고개짓이 우리랑 반대라는 걸 알고 있었는데도 막상 경험하니까 순간적으로 헷갈리더라. 그런데 일부 불가리아 사람들은 외국인들을 위해 또 그걸 반대로 하기 때문에 더 헷갈린다고 한다.

The bus was a small one and every seat was taken. Obviously it doesn't have enough room for bags. I moved fast so our bags could be stored in the back but the corridor was filled with other bags.

플로브디프로 가는 버스난 작은 승합차인데 그날따라 만석이라 가방 놓을 자리도 부족했다. 여차하면 못가는거 아닌가 싶어서 재빠르게 짐을 기사님에게 전달하기는 했는데 결국 다른 사람들 짐으로 버스 안까지 가득 찼다. 빠르게 짐을 맡기고 빠르게 앞자리를 맡는게 팁. 지정좌석 없음.

Google map says it takes a little longer than 2 hours, that is much shorter than the bus schedule 4 hours. Why?
구글맵은 2시간 11분이면 간다는데 버스 시간표는 4시간이 걸린다고 되어있다. 어째서?

로밍은 SKT에서 새로 나온(듯한) baro 4GB를 사용했는데 39000원으로 한 달 동안 유럽 전역에서 4GB를 사용할 수 있다. 4GB가 소진되어도 속도 제한만 건채로 무제한 사용 가능하다. 그런데 10여일 동안 결국 다 못썼다. 현지 유심도 써봤는데 번호 유지가 안되니 영 불편해서 그 이후로는 무조건 로밍이다.

I was hungry and it was only 2 BGN.
딱 보이는 맛이다. 그래도 단돈 1300원.

We took 30 minutes break here. That's why it takes more than 4 hours.
However, it's good to let the driver to take enough rest.
여기서 30분을 쉬고 출발했다. 이런 식으로 총 1시간 이상을 쉬다보니 4시간 넘게 걸린다.
실제 거리는 소피아 ~ 벨리코 투르노보가 241 km, 벨리코 투르노보 ~ 플로브디프가 192 km,
플로브디프 ~ 소피아가 156 km로, 소피아에서 벨리코 투르보노가 더 멀지만
길이 좋고 정차를 안해서 시간 상으로는 짧게 걸린다.

We are almost there. 얼마 안남았다.

And here we are. 그리고 도착.

The group that took the bus wits us was trying to get a taxi and one of them asked the driver how much it would cost. She seemed to be worrying to be cheated because that's what most of the guides say about the Bulgarian taxis. However the driver just left saying something with anger. We just took a random one didn't ask too much but I checked the route and meter. It just costed 5 BGN to the hotel.

우리랑 함께 버스를 탔던 그룹이 택시를 타려는 듯 대표로 보이는 한 사람이 기사에게 시내까지 얼마나 나오는지 다소 캐묻는 것 같았다. 워낙 불가리아 택시가 악명이 높아서 그런듯 싶은데, 기사도 짜증이 났는지 뭐라 하더니 그냥 가버렸다. 나는 짐도 많고 귀찮아서 그냥 아무 택시나 탔는데 경로나 미터기 움직이는거 봐서 혹시 이상하면 그냥 내릴 생각이었다. 결국 별 문제 없이 호텔까지 3천원 정도에 잘 도착했다.
