The Royal Palace of Madrid is located in the western end of the city. So, our plan is to walk there and go to the east by metro.
La Plaza de la Villa |
There is a small plaza next to the San Miguel Market.
Statue of Don Álvaro de Bazán |
Cathedral Church of the Armed Forces |
Along the Calle Mayou, you can see these historical buildings side by side.
Catedral de la Almudena |
When you reach the crossroad, there is the Catedral de la Almudena.
There is a queue to enter the palace. Ticket is 10 EUR. It is said to take 3 hours to look inside.
Everyone wants to take photo in the center of the palace, so you may wait for other to move away.
Monumento a la Virgen de la Almudena |
The Monumento a la Virgen de la Almudena is facing the palace.
We took our video of "We Lindy Hop" series here. To make sure, I asked a policeman if we can play music and dance, he just said yes like it's not even a small problem. However, we still need to be careful, because we were almost kicked out of the Parthenon in Athens.
You can look down the huge garden behind next to the palace.
Sabatini Garden |
Behind the palace, there is another garden.
