(Madrid) Sala VIP Aena, Puerta del Sol ★★★★
MADRID-BARAJAS AIRPORT Terminal 2, 28042 Madrid, Spain
Open 24 hours
T3, Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport, Madrd, Spain
To catch the flight to Lisbon, we took Expres Aeropuerto at Estación De Atocha (Stop ID: 5709), which takes about an hour. It costs 5 EUR and departs every 15 minutes in the morning. Since we still had 10-Journey Tickets with which we could take a regular 203 bus, but didn't want to take a risk when it's about flight. The airport in in zone A but regular ticket is not accepted. There are many bus stops near Estación De Atocha, so it can be confusing, but you can find the stop id on the back of the sign.

- Expres Aeropuerto: 5e pay cash when boarding / 10:00,15,30,45
- Estación De Atocha > 203 every 20m
- taxi: 30e
The bus has enough room for suitcases.
There are T1, 2, 3, and 4 and our terminal was T2. We went for Puerta De Alcala, only lounge available with Priority Pass according to the website.

- Madrid Adolfo Suarez-Barajas, Terminal 2 Airside - 2nd Floor, near Boarding Gate D62. Domestic departures from Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, Zones C and D only. Schengen flights only.
When I showed my flight ticket, the staff said our gate E74(E69?) is too far, so we'd better go to another lounge. There was no gate information on our flight yet, but I just assumed that the staff has their own system. However, it turned out to be D64, which is right next to this lounge! Did they just want to kick us out?
So, we came to this Puerta Del Sol lounge, located in the terminal 3(!)

- Madrid Adolfo Suarez-Barajas, Terminal 3
- Airside - after Security Control, proceed to the Boarding Area and take the stairs next to Gate E69 up to the 1st Floor where the lounge is located. Schengen flights only.
Besides the distance to the gate, Puerta Del Sol was pretty nice with all these liquors.
It was different with other lounges that they serve food with individual bowls, probably because of the covid-19 policy.
We came back to the gate D64. I booked Air Portugal via BudgetAir.com. At first, I thought that we could go to Lisbon by bus or train because it's right next to Madrid, but it turned out to take much longer.

Goodbye, Madrid.
It was interesting that each county in Europe has different polices against covid-19. For example, Spanish were quite strict on wearing masks, but even the flight attendants didn't wear masks in Air Portugal,
