From airport
- AEROBUS : 8:00~21:00, 30m, every 20m, 4 EUR, 6 EUR for round trip
- It is said that regular bus is also available for 24 hours with the same ticket
- The route is one-way, so it may take much longer when coming back to the airport.
- metro/bus : 30m, 1.45 EUR
- taxi (or Uber) : 10 EUR
We found the Aerobus stop but but no one was around. The airport staff said no Aerobus today (or permanently). So we took metro to the city.

We didn't need Lisboa Card because we're not the kind of travelers who visit all the tourist sites. So, it's 1 day ticket or zapping, but you don't need public transport that much in Lisbon, once you're in the central area. So I chose to use 1 day ticket for a day I want to travel much around the city, and for the other days, just topped up the balance whenever needed. The tricky part is that the kiosks are mainly in the metro stations but tourists mostly take trams. So, it'd be better to top up in advance whenever available. Also, I tried to use the card when taking the train to Belem but it didn't work, so we took a bus instead.
The 28E tram is not just a transportation line but the most popular attraction, because it goes along with many tourist sites in Lisbon. It starts from Praça Martim Moniz, so there are a super long queue. However, you don't have to wait if you are ok without seats. But the windows are low, so it's hard to see the view unless you sit.
People wating for 28E tram at the Praça Martim Moniz.
It goes even in this small street.
The last 28E tram was around 12:30, and the first was around 6:30 near our hostel.
Once, our tram just stopped and didn't move for a long time. Many people got off so I also came to see what happened. It turned out that a car pared too close to the lane. It must be a visitor who doesn't know about how to park in Lisbon. Tourists took selfies with this only-in-Lisbon situation, and so did I.
A furnicular.
Metro signs are written in Portuguese, so it takes some time to get used to. "linha Verde" means "Green line". This signs shows the way for transfer to the different metro line.
Almeda is the name of metro station, and it also shows exits.
