A perfect place to finish your day with open table, delicious food, and cold beer as all the locals do. English menu available. Staff not fluent English but willing to help and kind. BBQ seems to be their specialty.
The main reason why we came to Bangkok was food. The TripAdvisor and GoogleMap only recommends modern and tourist-friendly restaurants but we wanted something more local like the street food we loved in Hoi An. So I just gave up with web searching and came out right after checking in the hotel.
After about 5 minutes walking, we were lucky to find this beautiful place.
Yes, this seems like a place where locals eat.
They have English menu, so it was not difficult to order.
They have huge selections of food, and these photos are just a few page of the whole menu book.
Chang! I loved Chang so much that I even bought a T-shirt.
Pork Spicy Soup 120? |
Soup never fails because it clearly reveals the local flavor.
omelet 80 |
Plain omelet with flavor and sauce.
Fried Crab with Curry 250 |
It was a great choice for the first meal in Bangkok. It costed 790 in total, so 240 for rice, ice, and 2 bottles of Chang.`
And then we found this street.

We loved this restaurant, so we visited again right after coming back from Hua Hin.
Last time we just ordered regular menus, but it seemed that hot pot is their specialty.
I'm not sure this is how Thai do, but I put fatty part of port first to oil the pan.
Thai hot pot was different from other Asian counties in that we can cook in two different ways.
We also ordered fried glass noodle.
It costed 560 including 150 for beer.
She can never skip street coconut seller.
