(Lisbon) Gaspar House ★★
Praça Francisco Sá Carneiro 5, 5th floor, 1000-159 Lisboa, Portugal
- €646.90 (₩1,143,599) for 8 nights / ₩142,950 per night
- Good Value, but Service Needs Improvement
- Good value for money in a decent area.
- Slow / No Response: The staff rarely respond in a timely manner, and some of my questions were never answered. I tried contacting them through both the booking platform and WhatsApp. I even tried calling once, but they didn't answer and sent me a message instead.
- Poor Service: I wasn't informed that only one bathrobe was provided per stay, so I left it on the floor with the used towels. Even after I explained what had happened, I couldn't get a replacement. We also ran out of soap halfway through our stay, but the staff said they couldn't replenish it due to supply issues. On another occasion, we put out the room-cleaning sign, but the staff skipped our room, leaving us with no clean towels to use.
- Equipment Malfunction: The gas stove and oven didn't work. I sent a video showing a dozen attempts to use them, but I never received a reply. Later, a cleaning lady told us that they were broken.

The location and room condition were ok, but the service was horribile.
Once you arrive in Lisbon, or any European cities from out of EU, you should register to EES (Entry/Exit System). After I've done with a kiosk, it told us to go to 'e-gate'. So we didn't have to wait in the long queue and could pass the immigration right away. At that time, I thought that it was thanks to our Korean passports, which are known to be one of the most powerful one. However, I googled it now, Gemini says e-gate is available to anyone who's used EES before, which means all the poople in the manual gate were visiting EU for the first time after EES was applied, or didn't read the kiosk carefully.
ATM is located on you left after you pass the exit.
I've used the transportatino card before in Lisbon, but the name was 'Viva Viagem' at that time, and now it is 'Navegante'. However, the system seemed didn't change that much. To purchase it, follow the metro sign.
And you can find theses kiosks.
You can use the Navegante card in two ways: zap up, or day pass. Lisbon is not a small city but still good to walk around on foot. Also it is our first day when too tired to travel much. So I've just zapped up 2 cards with 20 euro. Extra 0.5 euro for each card is included in the bill, and you can use the card for a year. Riding with cash is much more expensive, so don't hesitate to spend it.
Our hotel was right next to the bus stop, so I've thought that the bus would be convenient. The problem is that buses in Lisbon does not run frequently. Just use Bolt next time.
The room is small. The photo above is pretty much most of the space.
No lock in the bathroom.
2 Shared bathrooms.
A shared kitchen. The gas stove and oven don't work.
Praça Francisco Sá Carneiro seen from the shared living room.

The old elevater is so small that 4 people nearly fit in.
The door to the whole apartment. This is more like a hostel than a hotel.
Didn't dare to try the stairs.
My Auchan, my favorite mart, near our hotel. A bag of corriander is only 1 euro!
Also rocket!
Heart-shaped peaches.
The entrance of the building is between shops.
