One of her must-eats in Hong Kong: Congee.
Good morning, Hong Kong!
Walking down the Mid-level.
Passing by Manmo Temple.
There are two restaurants and both run by same owner. The right one is smaller, so more focusing on take-out. I found out this last time we're here, but it's been already 6 years. Probably we looked confused and a kind young lady told us that these are same places in Korean! Thanks to K-pop, it's not hard to find foreigners speaking Korean any more.
The prices increased by about 5 HKD. It was only 29 HKD 6 years ago and prices generally increased even more while going through Covid-19.
Sharing tables is common.
She ordered on with fish and it tasted better than I expected.
Fried Fish Meat Pancake 19 > 21? |
Similar to Korean version.
Fresh Dace Ball & Pig's Giblets Congee 55 > 36? |
Look all I've got in one congee bowl!
Deep Fried Chinese Fritter 11 |
The staff recommended this. She didn't want it but I wanted to try anyway because it' only 11 HKD and the staff seemed to genuinely hope that we try to taste it. It's simple but good in little salty and chewy texture. I don't understand but it was good to eat with congee. It's rice and bread!
Jackpot!
Again, like 6 years ago, I don't know why but both congee is 36 HKD. I should order the most expensive one next time.
